A Legacy of Craft & Compassion: Iraj Moslehi
Sara’s journey into anaplastology began long before her formal training.
Her father, Iraj Moslehi, is widely recognized as the only practicing anaplastologist in Iran for more than two decades. A sculptor, painter, and mold maker by trade, Iraj devoted his life to serving individuals in need of prosthetic rehabilitation — often working with limited materials, scarce equipment, and little compensation.
His path into anaplastology began after encountering a young man attempting to conceal a missing ear in the streets of Tehran. Moved deeply, Iraj began experimenting with sculpting and silicone techniques, determined to create natural, dignified restorations for those who had been overlooked.
In 2001, he received a scholarship to train at the Velten Institute for Anaplastology in Germany. He returned to Iran with tools in his suitcase and a mission in his heart. Despite import restrictions, insurance barriers, and material shortages, he established his own clinic in Tehran and introduced the field of anaplastology to hospitals and medical professionals across the country.
In 2013, Iraj Moslehi was honored with the International Anaplastology Association (IAA) Humanitarian Award in recognition of his dedication and service. As he was unable to attend the conference, Sara accepted the award on his behalf.
From her father, Sara learned not only the technical and artistic foundations of prosthetic restoration, but also the deeper philosophy that guides her work today — to treat every patient with kindness, gentleness, honesty, and respect.
Today, Iraj resides in Colorado and continues to share his experience and wisdom, allowing this legacy of restoration to continue across generations.
Philosophy of Care
Sara believes that prosthetic restoration is not only a medical process, but a human one. Every patient brings a story, and every restoration deserves time, honesty, and respect. Her goal is not perfection, but authenticity—creating prosthetics that help patients move through the world with confidence, comfort, and dignity.
