The Process

Choosing a prosthetic is a meaningful and often emotional step. For many people, it marks the transition from healing after surgery, illness, or trauma to restoring a sense of normalcy and self.

At Art in Soul, the process is designed to feel supportive, transparent, and unhurried. Every step is guided by listening first, with care and respect for your comfort—both physical and emotional.

  • Your journey begins with a free consultation, either in person or video call.

This first conversation is a time to share your story, ask questions, and explore whether a prosthetic restoration is the right option for you. Sara will listen carefully, review your needs, and provide an overview of what the process may involve, including timing and estimated costs.

There is no pressure to move forward—only space to understand your options and feel informed.

  • If you choose to proceed, the next step is a detailed evaluation.

    This may include:

    • Reviewing medical history and surgical details

    • Discussing your goals, concerns, and daily life

    • Taking photographs or impressions when appropriate

Together, you will develop a thoughtful plan tailored specifically to you, always with comfort, safety, and realism in mind.

  • Each prosthetic is custom-made by hand.

During this phase, Sara carefully sculpts, fabricates, and color-matches the prosthesis to harmonize naturally with your features. This process blends medical science with artistic skill and often involves several appointments to ensure accuracy and comfort.

Because healing and anatomy can change over time, adjustments are a normal and expected part of creating the best possible result.

  • Once the prosthesis is ready, a fitting appointment allows for careful placement, refinement, and instruction.

    At this stage, Sara will:

    • Ensure proper fit and comfort

    • Make final color and detail adjustments

    • Review placement, removal, and wear expectations

Your feedback is essential, and time is taken to make sure the prosthesis feels right for you.

  • Prosthetic restoration does not end at delivery.

Art in Soul provides guidance on caring for your prosthesis, including cleaning, storage, and recommended wear schedules. Follow-up visits are encouraged as your needs change or if adjustments are required over time.

Patients are always welcome to reach out with questions or concerns—support is ongoing.

A Gentle Reminder

This process takes time and that is intentional.

Healing, adjustment, and restoration are not rushed. It often takes several fittings to achieve the most natural result, and patience with yourself during this journey is part of the process.

You are not alone in this.
